And his name- by faith in his name- has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.
just a little background on this story
Peter and John are walking to this temple, and go there DAILY (Acts 2:46) and it is routine and a part of there daily life. there is a lame man who is there from birth for 40 years his whole life. Peter and John know this man and im quite sure they have seen him from before....you know within the 40 years by chance they could have seen him once.
Since Peter and John go to the temple on a daily basis and not just once, they were probably accustomed to this man being here all the time. to be honest how often do we see a bill board and point it out everyday? most of the you just drive by it.......but......this once day it was different. This one day the lame man asked Peter and John for some money.....not so different.......but Peter noticed something...... Acts 3v4 "and Peter directed his gaze at him,..."
this caught my eye so i wanted to know the definition of gaze:
to look steadily and intently, as with great curiosity, interest, pleasure, or wonder.
I love the end of the definition "as with great.....wonder"
Peter saw something interesting, something curious, something pleasing to his eye, something.....wonderful
after Peter STARES at this lame man he says "look at us"
Peter and John were so in-tuned that he saw an opportunity that God wanted to heal. The lame man was being highlighted, Peter saw a picture, a vision, a word of knowledge, i dont know be Peter knew God was high lighting this man.
sometimes we get so caught up in our own life.....myself included for sure i love the busy life!
We pass by what God was highlighting, his voice got muffled by our i-pod or our car. The blessing that God gave us, the enemy has found a way to turn against Him.
Learning from the example of Peter from being in-tuned with God reminds of the passage in Matthew 25
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
are we listening? are intuned? cant you see Jesus crying out to be clothed, fed, healed through other peoples spirit? GOD we need you to OPEN OUR EYES, OPEN OUR EARS!
the lame was healed by the name of Jesus and the faith of it! Acts 3:16 "...it was through Jesus..."
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. it is no longer i who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life i now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me
by faith in the Son of God who lives in me Does and Will pour out healing, miracles, and signs THROUGH JESUS IN ME!
We need to be SEEKING his presence at all times, listening to His voice, looking fro his little nudges in "EVERY DAY" life.
God is CONTINUALLY speaking, always, forever, never ceasing in letting his voice to be heard. Elijah heard it as a "low whisper"(ESV) or a sound, or a thin silence
we need to be looking for God's clues through people, signs, nature, sounds, calls WHATEVER!
JESUS! SAVE ME! RESCUE ME! CALL ME! CHOOSE ME! hear I AM!
put a ZEAL of the Lord inside of me to know you, my God! Give the knowing that surpasses knowledge for it is written in EPHESIAN 3:19
"and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."
i am asking for the revelation behind your name! the name that gives perfect health! the name that heals! the name that SAVES! the name SAVIOUR!
my Jesus posses me with your spirit take over this life, i give it all, control, grasp, mold me in your ways my God
GRIP my heart for yours so that i may hear and see your wonders at work.
in Jesus name amen.
